We focus on quality, innovation, and continuous improvement in our wine production. We guarantee safe and excellent wine through our procedures. We implement sustainable practices both in the vineyard and the winery throughout the production process.

Through sustainable vineyard management, we ensure the best practices by manual harvests, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and carry out cleaning records according to Standardized Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP).

At each stage of the vine cycle, we carry out specific tasks to improve each plant and achieve superior quality clusters. These timely tasks are performed, not only in our own estates but also in each of the vineyards of the producers we work with.

In our winemaking process, we seek to preserve the terroir in the best possible way and that this is expressed in our wines. We follow a minimally interventionist, very careful, and detailed process. Our relentless pursuit focuses on superlative quality, innovation, and thorough work.

We are constantly researching in new developments to apply to our packaging to make it increasingly sustainable. We are always in contact with our suppliers to test new alternatives and conduct feasibility analyses for their application.

Among the initiatives we are implementing are:

We work with 50 to 55 producers annually. We purchase between 2 and 5 hectares of grapes from each producer, with some exceptions. All are located in Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley.

The main areas we focus on are irrigation efficiency, fertilization, and crop protection. After the visits, we generate a report on the discussed points.

Some of our activities include:

  • Providing financial benefits to encourage investments and improve vineyards.
  • Annually inviting all producers to the winery to strengthen relationships and provide specific training.
  • Offering training on products that can be used, machinery calibration, and soil management, among other topics.
  • Training on innovations in supplies such as paper, packaging, capsules, and packing.

We offer favorable hiring conditions for small businesses from whom we purchase products and services.

This approach allows small businesses to easily participate and join the supply chain.

In 2023, we began surveying our supply chain to identify sustainable practices and certifications among our suppliers. This initiative aims to better understand our suppliers, identify opportunities for joint actions that increase social and environmental impact.

We are working on building indicators that allow information to be comparable over the long term, enabling better decisionmaking and extending and enhancing sustainability in our supply chain.

We provide favorable contracting conditions for small enterprises from whom we purchase products and/or services.

This allows small businesses to easily participate and become part of our supply chain.

Our community efforts focus on two main pillars: promoting education and supporting social entrepreneurship.

In partnership with the FONBEC Scholarship Fund, we aim to encourage the educational commitment of our employees’ children. The selected students receive a monthly financial incentive as a reward for their dedication to their studies and are each assigned a mentor for guidance.
Between 2022 and 2023, 35 children from 22 families of our employees participated in the program along with their mentors. Over these two years, we invested $3,042,180 ARS in the program’s development.

Our community efforts focus on two main pillars: promoting education and supporting social entrepreneurship.

In 2023, we welcomed 30 teenagers from different parts of Mendoza to learn about how we work at Viña Cobos. Our team shared their university and professional experiences with these young students, who are preparing for their future careers, and guided them through every area of the winery.
Our community efforts focus on two main pillars: promoting education and supporting social entrepreneurship.

We operate under the highest standards to provide premium-quality products and services, meeting and exceeding our customers’ expectations.

We offer immediate customer support through digital communication channels (email, social media, and WhatsApp) and phone lines for both visitors and suppliers.

We maintain a policy of total transparency and authenticity, providing customers with any information they request. We also carefully analyze customer feedback to improve our services.

Our customers’ personal data is confidential and highly sensitive information, accessible only to authorized personnel. Additionally, our digital sales channels use secure payment methods provided by our online store.

We are committed to protecting the environment. Our sustainability culture is based on respecting nature’s cycles, ensuring efficient use of natural resources—soil, water, and energy—from our vineyards to the winemaking process.

We practice precision viticulture and enology, which allows us to:

  • Cultivate our vineyards in small plots to produce wines that truly express their origin.

  • Carefully monitor each vineyard sector to maximize its potential sustainably.

  • Apply technology through various analyses and mapping techniques.

  • Walk through every vineyard row to deeply understand each site.

  • Visual monitoring of diseases and nutritional status.

  • Foliar analysis twice a year.

  • Nutritional analysis of soil once every 3 years.

  • Monitoring of hours of wet leaves, temperature and humidity, to perform treatment only when necessary and not by calendar.

We take great care of our vineyards. For pest and disease control, we apply only the minimum necessary preventive treatments, avoiding curative products whenever possible.

We do not use herbicides. Instead, we control weeds by alternating between manual weeding in some rows and mechanical mowing in others. Under the vines, we use hoes, inter-row cultivators, or brush cutters.

Our workers receive proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and annual training on agrochemical handling. We have a dedicated area for the storage and handling of agrochemicals and responsibly manage empty containers once products are used. Our facilities include a first-aid kit, eyewash station, and a biological bed. All the products we use are green-label (low environmental impact).

Every year, we meet with various wineries and suppliers in the province to discuss updates on permitted products and residue limits in major markets. We also review waiting periods and product residue longevity. Based on this information, we create a recommended product guide for growers selling to wineries, ensuring consistent practices.

We implement responsible soil use through:

  • Regular soil fertility analyses to track soil health.

  • Minimal tillage to preserve soil structure.

  • Topography-based farm management to prevent soil degradation.

  • Preventing waterlogging to avoid soil erosion.

  • Post-harvest cover cropping to enhance soil biodiversity and improve physical and chemical properties.

To closely monitor soil health, we conduct fertility, texture, salinity, electromagnetic conductivity (ECM), and pest studies. We also perform leaf nutrient analysis twice a year and soil tests to track fertility levels.
We use targeted fertilization based on vine vigor, crop goals, and vineyard age. Our balanced nutrient plans use low NPK levels, replenishing only what is extracted. We apply macronutrients via fertigation and solid amendments in winter using composted manure. Micronutrients are applied foliar alongside treatments. Additionally, we incorporate organic fertilizers such as Organutza, Biobloemen, Guanito, Fol Suelo, and Hampi.

In some vineyards, we do not till the soil at all, instead opting for selective mowing of native weeds that pose minimal competition with the vines, ensuring 100% ground cover.

We are making the most significant vineyard investments in our history. We have committed $10 million over five years to enhance sustainability practices, ensuring world-class grape quality for the future.

As part of this initiative, in 2023, we built water reservoirs across all our vineyards and installed state-of-the-art drip irrigation systems to optimize and reduce water consumption. Additionally, we have begun renovations and new plantings across 50+ hectares.

At Hobbs Estate, our vineyard surrounding the winery, we have a 5,000,000-liter reservoir, which supplies drip irrigation for 13.6 hectares. This vineyard is planted in trellis formation with 1.8m row spacing.

Wastewater from the winery is transported via PVC pipes to the reservoir for reuse in irrigation.

Each area of the winery is equipped with designated recycling bins to ensure proper waste separation at the source.
We partner with civil society organizations to maximize the impact of our recycled materials on vulnerable communities. Since 2018, we have collaborated with Corpa, a company specializing in shredding, compacting, and baling recyclable materials. This ensures our waste re-enters the supply chain, promoting environmental responsibility and a circular economy.

Amount of waste recycled

  • Corrugated cardboard: 368kg.
  • Polyethylene blanket (PEB): 2800kg.
  • Mixed glass: 900kg.

Organic Waste Recycling

We compost grape stems with soil, pruning material, manure, and organic matter collected from the winery, which is later reintegrated into the vineyards. Pruning residues left in the vineyard are also incorporated into the soil.
