In the vineyard, each vine is managed in search of the balance that enables the maximum concentration of the typical aromas, structure and complexity of each varietal.

Los Árboles, Tunuyán, Valle de Uco
Average altitude: 1.184 m / 3.884 ft

This property covers an area of 17,3 ha (42,7 ac) planted with Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.

This region is characterized by having alluvial, poor, stony and well-drained soil. In terms of topography, the vineyard has a northern exposure, with a west-east slope of 2.7% which favors the air circulation and the vineyard health conditions.

During the maturity period, the temperature range is of 14.4 ºC (57.9 °F).

Drip irrigation is used. This system, together with the high permeability of the soil, contributes to controlling the vineyard growth during vegetative development and grape maturity. The method used for this vineyard is spur pruning.

One of the distinctive features of this vineyard is that various native forests of chañar trees (typical trees of the region) were preserved as a nature reserve of flora, as well as the diverse indigenous species of fauna.

Perdriel, Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza
Average altitude: 995 m / 3265 ft

The estate of 45 ha (111 ac), adjacent to our winery, is planted with vines of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Petit Verdot and Merlot.

The vineyard has deep well-drained soils, and textures may vary from loamy-clayey to loamy-sandy, and slightly alkaline. Deep below, there is a layer of pebbles and rounded stones.

During the maturity period, the temperature range is of 14.4 ºC (57.9 °F).

A mixed irrigation system is used: surface and drip irrigation. Spur pruning is the method used for these vines.

The Marchiori Estate is an important part in our history. Malbec grapes grown in block C2 led up to the inaugural vintage’s release: Cobos Malbec 1999.

Villa Bastías, Tupungato, Mendoza
Average altitude: 1150 m / 3372 ft

With a planted area of 7 ha (17.2 ac), it stands out for its old vines of Malbec: 4,4 ha (10.8 ac) of more than 80 years old.

The silty-sandy soils are steeply inclined on a west-east slope. Night temperatures are very low leading to a wide temperature range.

During the maturity period, the temperature range is of 14.9 ºC (58.8 °F).

Traditional furrow irrigation along the slopes and cane pruning are used.

This property has the historical value of a family as pioneers of the wine industry in the Uco Valley. José Zingaretti, an Italian immigrant, brought from his homeland his ‘know-how’ in terms of vine growing and high-quality winemaking. He was one of the first settlers of Tupungato, a hard-to-reach area at the beginning of the 20th century.

La Consulta, San Carlos, Mendoza
Average altitude: 1015 m / 3330 ft

Located in the heart of the Uco Valley, its surface of 17,7 ha (43.7 ac) has been planted with Malbec vines.

This deep, well-drained soil has thick texture and rocks at depth. It has a slight slope that favors the irrigation system. During the maturity period, the temperature range is of 14.8 ºC (58.6 °F).

Traditional furrow irrigation along the slopes and spur pruning are used.

The vineyard takes its name after the Toso Rebon family, who has owned this estate and has worked with Viña Cobos for several years, taking permanent care of the vineyard and studying the soil to select the best parcels of land.

Las Compuertas, Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza
Average altitude: 1150 m / 3772 ft

This property of 3.15 ha (7 ac) is planted with Malbec vines.

The area is characterized by its rocky and sandy soils. The vineyard has a west-east slope of 2%, and a north-south slope of 1,3%, which favors a rapid drainage. In addition, the wide temperature rage between day and night helps to achieve great color intensity and aromatic concentration. During the maturity period, the temperature range is of 14.6 ºC (58.2 °F).

Furrow irrigation along the slopes and cane pruning are used.

The property has belonged to the family for three generations who have taken great care of the vines. The original vocation of Emilio Touza’s family was the viticulture. Today, as ever, they keep on devoting themselves to the production of high-quality grapes.

Los Chacayes, Tunuyán, Mendoza
Average altitude: 1100 m / 3308 ft

From this vineyard, 4.4 ha (10 ac) are planted with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

The silty-sandy soils show abundant boulders with presence of calcium carbonate cementation. The sharp topography in this region defines areas from high elevation towards lower elevation, indicating where rivers used to flow there.

During the maturity period, the average temperature is of 16.1 ºC (60.9 °F).

Drip irrigation and spur pruning are used.

This property is part of an ambitious project located in one of the wine regions with the highest renown in terms of quality.
